2)Real time community protection
This project aimed at promoting peaceful cohabitation between IDP, returnees and autochthones. During this project, there have been 48 radio shows or programs on themes such as land conflicts, human rights, children rights, conflicts resolutions, peace building, and ceremony of reintegration for formerly abducted children. This program covered ¾ of Haut Uélé districts, ¼ of Bas Uélé districts and small part of the Republic of South Sudan. We know this because of their feedback and letters they write to our office. It is estimated that at least 100 000 people have followed our program. At least 53 people have asked us on various conflicts direct question during our live radio program of whom 11 women and 42 men. 40 people have come directly to our office to seek legal advices from our lawyer on various conflicts predominantly land conflict.
The other positive result we have seen is the engagement of local and government authorities in addressing the emerging conflicts between IDP and autochthones or between IDP and returnees.
